A Brief History of the

Fraternal Order of Police

National FOP LogoThe Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) was founded in 1915 by two Pittsburgh, PA Police Officers. Today the FOP has over 300,000 members in all 50 states and is considered the largest police organization in the United States. The membership is made up of law enforcement officers from local, county, state, federal, and retired officers. The FOP is dedicated to making the life of all law enforcement officers better by supporting effective legislation to improve officers lives, working conditions, salaries, and benefits. The FOP has adopted the motto “Just Fidus Libertatum”, which means....

Law is the Safeguard of Freedom.

Locally, Statewide, and Nationally

Lodge 15 LogoPuget Sound Lodge 15 was chartered in June 2000 and has grown to 40 Active members (as of 11/01//08). The FOP is fairly new in Washington State and currently has 19 lodges throughout the state.  Lodge 15 serves all law enforcement officers within Snohomish County, WA. We are actively recruiting members and encourage all officers to check us out to see what we can do for you and your family.  We are not a union.  We are a Brother and Sisterhood of local officers, who strive to bring officers together by way of the largest Police organization in the USA.  It is our goal to have members from every law enforcement agency within Snohomish County.  We have adopted the state motto of "cops helping cops" and will work hard in the future to bring officers together locally, statewide, and nationally. The FOP is very involved in legislation that affects all of us as police officers, both locally and nationally.  We have numerous gatherings for members and families throughout the year, and provide additional benefits such as life insurance, Honor Guard, Legal Defense Plan, scholarships for children, and critical incident support.  If you have any questions concerning membership or any other matter, please contact us at wafop15@comcast.net.
